Welcome from the Chancellor
Welcome to Rutgers University–New Brunswick! We are proud to be a leader in providing opportunities, producing
successful graduates, and serving as an anchor institution for New Jersey, thanks to the support and contributions from
our community.
According to U.S. News & World Report, we are ranked #15 among public universities in the nation and #35 nationwide for
social mobility. Our graduation rates surpass national averages, and our graduates consistently report positive career
outcomes within six months of graduation, contributing to the prosperity and growth of our communities.
However, statistics alone do not capture the full picture. Guided by our Academic Master Plan and its four pillars of
excellence—Scholarly Leadership, Innovative Research, Student Success, and Community Engagement—we are setting a
new standard for excellence in higher education.
We prioritize forward-thinking methods to help our students navigate their paths to self-discovery, succeed in their chosen
昀elds, and engage as responsible citizens. By fostering a supportive environment that addresses student well-being and
basic needs, we promote timely graduation with minimal debt, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to your
success. Our future-focused partnerships ensure our curriculum remains relevant in a constantly changing world.
Furthermore, we take pride in being recognized as an Innovation and Economic Prosperity University. The Association of
Public and Land-grant Universities has acknowledged us as one of only 80 institutions nationwide with this distinction,
re昀ecting our ongoing commitment to serving as an economic catalyst for the state and region.
Welcome to your future. Welcome to Rutgers–New Brunswick, your new community, where ideas are born and come to life.
Sincerely,
Francine Conway, Ph.D.
